Essential (always active)
These are required for the Service to function and cannot be disabled.
- Authentication session — Keeps you signed in across page loads. Expires when you sign out or after 30 days.
- Theme preference — Remembers your light/dark mode choice. Stored in local storage.
- Location hint — Stores your approximate GPS coordinates (latitude/longitude) to serve location-aware content server-side without requesting permission on each page load. Expires after 24 hours. No precise address is derived or stored.
- Cookie consent state — Stores your cookie consent decision so we don’t ask again on every visit.
Analytics (requires consent)
Used to understand how the Service is used so we can improve it.
- PostHog — Behavioral analytics (page views, clicks, feature usage). Data is pseudonymous. PostHog is configured to respect your consent preference. See posthog.com/privacy.
Advertising (requires consent)
Used to serve and measure advertisements.
- Google AdSense — Serves ads on AnyPlanz. If you accept, Google may use cookies to show you personalized ads based on your interests and browsing history. If you choose generic ads, AdSense still loads but serves contextual ads based on page content only — no cross-site tracking. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
3. Managing Your Preferences
When you first visit AnyPlanz, a cookie banner appears at the bottom of the page. You can:
- Accept all — Personalized ads and analytics are enabled. Ads are tailored to your interests.
- Generic ads — Ads are still shown, but based on page content only (not your browsing history). Analytics are disabled.
Regardless of your choice, essential cookies (authentication, theme, location hint, consent state) remain active as they are necessary for the Service to function.
You can change your preference at any time by clearing local storage for anyplanz.com in your browser settings, which will cause the banner to reappear on your next visit.
You can also opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings or through the NAI opt-out tool.
